Techflex® Automotive Thermashield Kits

With Techflex's Automobile Engine Customizing Kits, custom shops, restoration professionals and shadetree mechanics are able to add the ultimate finishing touch to the engine compartments of their concept/show cars, street rods or daily commuter. Packaged with enough material to finish off the wires, cables and hoses on most cars, these kits provide an easy DIY solution to the challenge of wire and cable protection and beautification under the hood. Engineered from tough, versatile polyethylene terepthalate (PET) monofilament or specially braided thin-slit metallic Mylar, the sleeving easily expands to fit over existing plugs and inline connections. Heat resistant to 450°F, impervious to engine chemicals, economical and safe on hot hoses and wire harnesses, the installation will extend the working life of wires and hoses and provide a custom look that will last for years.

What is Thermashield?

ThermaShield creates a thermal buffer between your wires, hoses and cables and the high temperature environments surrounding them. ThermaShield is engineered by laminating an aluminized metallic heat shield to a layer of strong, tightly braided fiberglass insulation. This system provides superior protection from radiant heat by reflecting it away from sensitive electronics, wiring and hoses. The four styles of ThermaShield; Tube, Convoluted, Wrap and Flat provide a full range of solutions for any application. The Wrap and Flat products use a very aggressive, high temperature adhesive that eliminates the need for high-temp mylar tape or other adhesive. ThermaShield products will endure temperatures up to 1,200°F without delaminating, turning brittle or suffering adhesive failure. They are ideal in any situation where protection from radiant heat is a primary concern. ThermaShield laminated sleeving is available in Silver.
