Increase Visibility & Safety

Bicycle transportation is an environmentally considerate and healthy way to travel. Techflex® patented reflective products can add safety to this activity by making your bike more visable to motorists in low light conditions. The Reflex Sleeving bike kits make one of the largest systems on your bike (wires & cables) glow when hit with oncoming lights.

What is Flexo® Reflex?

Flexo® Reflex is a polyethylene terepthalate material braided together with highly reflective 3M Scotchlite retroreflective monofilament. This unique combination provides a high level of wire and cable protection with the added advantage of extraordinary 360 degree, on-axis reflectivity. RF is up to 1,500 times brighter than plain white under identical conditions and will provide high visibility safety on wires, hoses, cables, bicycle and motorcycle cables, stage wiring and virtually anything else up to 675’ away. Even in low light conditions, Flexo® Reflex will reflect light.

How To Increase Bicycle Visibility & Safety

Riding a bike is a great way to exercise, relieve stress, or even commute but it needs to be done safely. Ensuring you are a safe & visible bicyclist is easy when you follow these general rules:

Stay Visible: Make sure you're visible to drivers, especially when riding at night. Use a front light, rear light, and wear reflective clothing or accessories on your person. This Flexo® Bicycle Kit is a great way to add some additional visibility to your bike in low light. While riding during the day, wear bright colored clothing & reflectors.

Wear Proper Safety Gear: Everyone knows the importance of a helmet, but we are going to remind you because it is THAT important. A helmet can greatly reduce the risk of head injuries in an accident. Make sure your helmet fits properly and is secured tightly to your head for the best level of protection. If you are still learning to ride and are unsteady, elbow & knee pads would provide another level of protection from falls.

Follow Traffic Rules: Bicyclists must obey traffic rules, including stopping at stop signs and red lights, using hand signals to indicate turns, and riding with the flow of traffic. Following the same rules as cars helps drivers accurately predict your movements.

Stay Alert: Always be aware of what's happening around you. Scan ahead for potential hazards, such as potholes or parked cars, and always be prepared to react to unexpected situations. Assume drivers can't see you and ride defensively. Keep a safe distance from cars, watch for turning vehicles, and be prepared to stop suddenly if necessary.

Bike Maintenance: It is essential to make sure your bike is in good working order. Check your brakes, tires, and other components regularly, and fix any problems immediately to prevent injury to yourself or others.
