Techflex® braided expandable sleeving is the perfect product for protecting vulnerable cabling and hoses in the SCUBA diving world. For added safety many of FLEXO's neon colors offer high visibility underwater and can make finding hoses faster and easier. The unique braided design doesn't trap moisture and slides on over all standard SCUBA hoses.

What Is Flexo® PET Braided Sleeving?

Flexo® PET is used in electronics, automotive, marine and industrial wire harnessing and management applications where cost efficiency and application durability are important. The unique braided construction allows expandability up to 150% or more for quick and easy installation over large connectors and long installation runs. PT is braided from 10 mil PolyEthylene Terepthalate (PET) monofilament yarns. The material has a wide operating temperature range, resists chemical degradation, UV damage and abrasion.

About Flexo® PET Neon Colors

Flexo® PET colors designated as Neon are UV reactive. UV reactive, also known as fluorescent or blacklight reactive, refers to a material or substance that glows or appears to change color when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light. Available neon colors include; Neon Blue (NB), Neon Green (NG), Neon Pink (NP), Neon Red (NR), Neon Orange (NO), and Neon Yellow (NY).

Installing Hose Cover Kits Over SCUBA Hoses

Step 1: Measure Sleeving To Length. Measure the sleeving and mark the measurement with a pen or marker. Add an additional 1 1/2 - 2 inches and cut the extended length of sleeving.

Step 2: Fitting The Sleeving. Slip the additional lenght of sleeving over the end of your application so that the mark is at the spot on the installation where you want the sleeving to end. (On this low pressure air hose, it is just below the connector.)

Step 3: Taping The End. Starting at the line, take a few tight turns of tape down the application so that it covers the sleeving and extends about 1 1/2" on the application. Make sure the tape is smooth and tight. Cut the end and press down for a smooth finish.

Step 4: Turning It Back. Push the sleeving down over itself and the tape and keep pushing until the other end of the sleeving falls into place at the far end of the application. If there are any sharp edges or loose wires on the ends, temporarily wrap them with tape to avoid snags.

Step 5: Finishing The Installation. This system creates a clean termination with a slight flare at the end. Please Note: This installation process only works at one end of your application. To finish the other end, you will have to use another termination procedure.
