When your application demands a sanitary connection without the drawbacks of stainless steel, Rubber Fab's Non-Metallic Sanitary Hinge Clamps are the purpose-built solution. Constructed from fiberglass-reinforced nylon, these clamps are specifically designed for non-metal to non-metal connections, though they are equally suitable for non-metallic to metallic and metallic to metallic sanitary mechanical joints. Unlike stainless steel clamps, they will not cause distortion in non-metallic ferrules during high operating temperatures or sterilization cycles, making them an ideal choice for GMP manufacturing environments, bioprocessing, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage applications.
The lighter weight and reduced thermal conductivity of the nylon construction makes these clamps a smart upgrade wherever minimizing heat transfer and overall system weight are priorities. They accept sanitary ferrules per BS 4825, ISO 2852, and Tri-Clover® standards, and are gamma stable to 25–40 kGy for use in irradiation environments. Available in nominal diameters from 1/2" through 8", with volume pricing available for larger quantity orders.
Tests & Operating Capability
- For use in GMP Manufacturing
- Gamma stable to 25-40 kGy
- Maximum irradiation dosage is 6 mega rads, this dosage is cumulative. Expect to see discoloration and the material to become brittle.
- Autoclave Sterilize to 275°F (135°C) After autoclave clamp may need to be retorqued
- Maximum recommended installation torque specification is 2nm.
- Recommended working pressure, 150 p.s.i. @ 70°F
- PTFE gaskets are not to be used in conjunction with the non metallic clamp. Acceptable elastomers are: Tuf-Flex®, Silicone, FKM, EPDM.
